The invitation is the first design element your guests will see. So this begs the question: When should I send them out? The recommended timeframe for a kid’s birthday party is 2 to 4 weeks in advance. This allows your guests plenty of time to prepare for the festivities, such as purchase a present and arrange transportation. Sending out invites more than 4 weeks in advance puts your guests at risk of misplacing the invite, or forgetting about your party altogether. With that being said, extra notice can be helpful and needed if your child’s party is on a holiday weekend (i.e. Memorial or Labor Day Weekend), which can help prevent your guests from potential schedule conflicts.
